Planetary Arcs are based on using the movement of a specific planet as an arc (angular movement) that is then applied to all points of the horoscope, making this a direction.  The most common of these, of course, is the Solar Arc technique.  The Sun progresses around 1° of motion each year, which makes eye-balling Solar Arcs quite easy.  (note that Summer births will need a bit more time to reach that arc, due to the change in the apparent velocity of the Sun, so that adding another ½ year for every 15 years of age will correct for that) Additionally, Solar Arcs are often used in midpoint pictures and through the use of higher-ordered harmonics.  I would recommend the 16th harmonic especially, but would avoid harmonics that don’t relate to every other element of the 2^x series… 4 … 16 … 64 … 256 … 1024 … 4096 … Remember that to use beyond the 16th harmonic, you will need to have a quite accurate birthtime.  Also, with each advance in harmonic number, there is a reciprocal decrease in allowable orbs. I’d suggest: Thank you, linchi, for the orb recommendations, they have worked well…
